Her dynamic career spans centuries of inherited repertoire and premieres of contemporary American works.
Last season, Brooke returned to Opera on the James as Zita in Gianni Schicchi with Lynchburg Symphony. She covered Jennie in Weill's Down in the Valley with Little Opera Theatre of New York and sang Ruth in Pirates of Penzance with BARN Opera in Vermont. In 2022, Brooke created La Poncia in the world premiere of La Casa de Bernarda Alba with Cleveland Opera Theater. During the pandemic, she recorded Mistress Quickly for Social Distance Opera's Falstaff, performed excerpts of Maia Aprahamian's operas for Bagaduce Music Center, and appeared in the immersive production Voyeur: The Windows of Toulouse-Lautrec in the West Village. As Anna in Death by Classical's Dido and Aeneas, Brooke was lauded for "singing with passion while sprawled on the floor…à la Netrebko." With Syracuse Opera, she performed Filippyevna in Eugene Onegin, Flora in La Traviata, and Mercédès in Carmen. She debuted as the Old Prioress in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites at Baldwin Wallace University. Other roles include Elizabeth in Griffin Candey's Sweets by Kate (Marble City Opera), Auntie in Peter Grimes (Madison Lyric Stage), and Mrs. Soames in Ned Rorem's Our Town (Raylynmor Opera). In 2012, Brooke made her European debut in William Mayer's A Death in the Family at Szeged National Theatre and Opéra d'Avignon. Brooke co-founded Boston Opera Collaborative, performing as Carmen, Bradamante (Alcina), Phobia (La Pizza Con Funghi), and Mistress Quickly (Falstaff). As a Tyler Young Artist at Opera on the James, she sang Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Mercédès (Carmen), and Ernesto (The Billy Goats Gruff). She was also a young artist at Opera New Jersey and Natchez Festival of Music. Born and raised in Vermont, Brooke holds Voice Performance degrees from Vanderbilt University and The Boston Conservatory. She sings in the professional quartet at Round Hill Community Church in Greenwich, CT. In addition to performing, she serves as Head of Foundation Services for The Aaron Copland Fund for Music and The Amphion Foundation, and co-hosts the Indie Opera Podcast.
